The Venice Biennale is a development from, or extension of, Manchester Pavilion which was established at the Venice Biennale 2001 by Paul Bayley, Pavel Büchler, Nick Crowe, Graham Parker and Martin Vincent.

This initiative develops the international biennale model by being
a) fully licensed
b) open late
c) not having any space taken up by works of art
