This work came about as a result of the artist's participation in the Sharjah Biennial in April this year, where he met a young female student who was fascinated by life drawing. Given the strong religious influence on the United Arab Emirates, this work could not be exhibited in her degree show and will probably not be seen at all in her home country. Solakov wanted to offer her the opportunity to show the work in an international exhibition within the next six months and agreed to do so as soon as he could. That agreement is realised here in the presentation of the works of Sarah Ayoub Agha courtesy of Nedko Solakov.
